Nightcliff Football Club has competed in the AFLNT competition in Darwin, Northern Territory since it entered as the Works & Housing team in 1950.

The Nightcliff Football Club was originally formed as Works and Housing Football Club in 1950 and ​competed in the 1950/51 NTFL season; the club was renamed Nightcliff Football Club in 1963/64.

In the early 70’s the Nightcliff Sports Club was established, which is now an icon of the suburb and the Football Club is one of the larger affiliate clubs.

The football club currently has nineteen teams in the NTFL 2020/21 competition with Premier League Men and Women, Division 1, Division 2 Men and Women, Under 18’s Men and Women, Under 16’s Boys and Girls, Under 14’s Boys and Girls, Under 12’s Boys and Girls and Under 10’s mixed teams.

The Home and Away season commences in October with Finals played in March the following year.

The Club has its own home ground at the Nightcliff Oval (Mazda Nightcliff Oval) situated adjacent to the Nightcliff Sports Club. Games are also played at Darwin's TIO Marrara Stadium and various other club home grounds. We also welcome volunteers at all levels from coaching staff, team managers, water carriers, umpires and sports trainers.
